First, visit the style guide that you'll be using, and see which pieces of information should be included in a web site, page or document citation.  Each style formats web citations differently.

Then, look on the webpage that you're citing for the pieces of the citation. Each website and webpage will be arranged a bit differently, so be persistent!   See a quick video for tips on where to look first:
