Turnitin's helps faculty identify possible instances of plagiarism by checking students' writing for citation mistakes or innappropriate copying.
Turnitin is integrated into the Assignments tool in all APUS Sakai classrooms and managed by Classroom Support. This allows all uploaded assignments to be automatically routed through the Turnitin repository. Originality reports should be available within 15 minutes. The Assignments integration means that faculty and students no longer have to set up individual accounts with Turnitin in order to check student papers for potential plagiarism.
You can enable automatic Turnitin submission within each assignment's settings:
The process for assignment submission will not change for students, and the Turnitin report will automatically appear next to the attached file (note the similarity index (%) next to the file name). Simply click the report to view it. If you need help interpreting originality reports, click here.
It is recommended that assignments be configured to allow multiple submissions, so that, in the event of unacceptable levels of similarity, students are able to correct their work and resubmit it for grading. All reports for that assignment will be available, for easy comparison.
