The Nursing Reference Center Plus (NRC) is a full-text biomedical database for nursing point-of-care information. It includes nursing care plans, prescription and OTC drug monographs, CINAHL Evidence-Based Care Sheets, clinical practice guidelines, and patient care information. Use the main search box and then filter your results using the tab headings on the results screen to the source type needed.

Note that the NRC does not index journal articles. When a thorough medical literature search is needed, it’s best to use CINAHL and PubMed. However, the database can be used to indirectly identify key journal articles by noting the cited references found at the bottom of related CINAHL Evidence-Based Care Sheets. The NRC is available below and from the library’s A to Z List on the library homepage.

See the Nursing Research Strategies Guide to learn more about nursing resources.
