Financial ratios are a common means of determining a company's performance and strength by comparing that company's ratios with those of the industry overall. The following resources provide financial ratios for industries: . 

  • ABI/Inform
    • Select:  Advanced Search
    • Look for the search boxes : Company Name, NAICS, and Classification Codes. 
    • Use the helpful lookup option to find the industry codes!
  • BizStats:  Free business statistics and financial ratios
  • Business Source Complete
    • Search Options includes section for NAICS/Industry entry or Lookup.
    • Enter Company or Use Ticker Symboy
    • Can search for several companies or industries, make sure to check the box!
  • Nexis Uni
    • Company ratios
      • Click on the Menu link at the top left corner of the database home page, Select Company Dossier
      • Enter a company's name in the "Company name" search box and select its name on the results page
      • On the company snapshot page, select Financial Overview from the left side menu and click on the link for Ratio Analysis (if available),  Screen shot example for Apple.
    • Industry ratios
      • Click on the Menu link at the top left corner of the database home page, Select Company Dossier
      • Click on the Industry tab at the top of the resulting page and enter an industry's name or SIC code into one of the search boxes.
      • Click on the link for an industry from the results page.
      • On the industry overview page, click on the link for Ratio Components.
