First, click to the Books & eBooks Catalog (Lock icon. Subscription resource; log in with your campus id and password.).  If prompted to log in, use your APUS ID and password.

Use the drop-down menu next to the search box to select “Author.”

  • If the author is a person, enter the last name first. You have the option of then adding a comma and the first name (especially with common names)--e.g., Mark Twain becomes "Twain, Mark."
  • When the author is an organization, institution, or conference, drop any initial article but enter the first few words of the name in order--e.g., The Congress on Racial Equality is entered as "Congress on Racial Equality"
  • An author search in the catalog does not find information about the author - if you need biographical information about an author, click here.
